CHARLOTTE STREET FOUNDATION NEIGHBORHOOD STUDY AND APPLICANT MAPPING
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This preliminary evaluation of four areas of Kansas City, Missouri focuses primarily on physical and economic development pattern information related to Charlotte Street Foundation’s (CSF’s) strategic goals. This work in 2018 provided a high level view of central urban neighborhoods that currently provide the most appropriate built forms and uses for CSF’s program to thrive. The four areas are: East Crossroads, Roanoke & Westside South, Midtown - Main Street, and West Bottoms. The brief analysis of each area includes images representative of the scale, aesthetic and uses in each area as well as a narrative about the zoning, uses, access, local organizations present, and general market value. The second part of this analysis mapped the locations of the last three years of applicants to CSF’s residency programs to better understand centrality and accessibility for local residents.
